Heads Up Hygiene ("Heads Up Hygiene", "we", "us", "our") is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Arizona. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect
Information you give us
- Newsletter sign-ups. Your email address when you subscribe.
- Enquiries. Your name, email address and the contents of your message when you contact us, for example to register a school, ask about volunteering, or arrange a Hygiene Haul.
- Donations. If you donate, your name, email address and the amount. Payments are handled by our payment processor. We do not receive or store full card numbers.
Information collected automatically
- This site is hosted by Squarespace, which records standard analytics such as pages viewed, referring site, browser and device type, and approximate location.
- Cookies and similar technologies are used to run the site and understand how it is used. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies, though parts of the site may not work properly if you do.
- Our newsletter form uses Google reCAPTCHA to reduce spam. That use is subject to Google's own privacy policy and terms.
How we use your information
- To send the newsletter and updates you asked for
- To respond to your enquiries
- To administer school registrations, volunteering and Hygiene Hauls
- To process donations, send acknowledgements, and meet our record-keeping and tax obligations
- To understand how the site is used so we can improve it
How we share information
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
We share information only with the service providers who help us operate, such as our website host, email provider and payment processor, and only as far as they need it to provide that service. We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of Heads Up Hygiene, the people we serve, or others.
Your choices
- Email. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email us and we will remove you.
- Access, correction and deletion. Email us to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. We may need to keep some records, donation records in particular, to meet legal obligations.
Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under state or national privacy law. Contact us and we will do our best to honour them.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires. Newsletter subscribers are kept until they unsubscribe.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. No website or method of transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this site, and we do not collect information about individual students through it. Our programs reach children through partner schools, which keep their own records. If you believe a child has given us personal information through this website, contact us and we will delete it.
Other websites
We link to other organizations where we think it is useful, such as local food banks. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
